In Every Creation, A World Anew

About the Studio

Pirouchak Art Studio was formed around a shared approach to making – one that values time, attention, and respect for material. Our practice is rooted in traditional techniques, yet shaped by contemporary sensibilities.
Each piece begins with careful observation and grows through a slow, hands-on process. We work in small scales, allowing space for experimentation, imperfection, and quiet dialogue between the maker and the material.

Alongside the studio’s creative practice, Pirouchak Art Studio also serves as a space for learning and knowledge sharing. Soheil Shabani, an experienced Ceramist and Educator, with over three decades of hands-on experience in ceramics production, technical consulting, and workshop practice, offers specialized short-term courses. These sessions focus on traditional and industrial techniques, material understanding, and hands-on craftsmanship. Each course is designed for those seeking deeper, practice-based engagement and a closer connection with the material.

Soheil Shabani

Ceramist, Educator, and Technical Consultant

Soheil Shabani (b. 1969, Semnan, Iran) began his professional journey in the field of ceramics in the late 1980s. Over more than three decades, he has been actively involved in industrial and workshop-based work, education, and technical consulting, shaping his perspective on ceramics as both a technical and production-oriented process.

His initial experience at “Tandis Ceramics,” founded in 1975 by his father, Fazlollah Shabani, provided him with deep insights into production cycles, project management, and the technical requirements of the ceramics industry. These experiences paved the way for his collaboration with diverse industrial, urban, and manufacturing projects.

In the 2000s, Shabani established his own independent workshop, continuing his work across three main areas: production, education, and consulting. His focus during these years has been on transferring technical knowledge, addressing complex production challenges, and enhancing the quality of ceramic processes. He has also contributed as a technical consultant in various fields, including sanitary ceramics, kiln technology, raw materials, and glazes. Alongside his professional endeavors, Shabani is dedicated to education, offering specialized short-term courses.

His educational approach blends technical expertise with practical experience, enabling the development of professional skills.

Nasim Malmir

Owner & Artist of Pirouchak Art Studio

Nasim Malmir (b. 1987, Nahavand, Iran) is a contemporary jewelry and sculpture artist working in metal, ceramics, and other materials based in Semnan. After earning her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Electronics), she pursued practical experience in various artistic fields and later completed her B.A. in Handicrafts at Alzahra University, Tehran. She trained in specialized jewelry-making under master Keyhan Nabavieh.

Before studying Handicrafts, she had experience in underglaze and seven-color ceramics. Since 2020, she has been learning extensively from Soheil Shabani in ceramics.

Her artistic approach centers on reinterpreting traditional Iranian structures through a contemporary lens. Each piece reflects themes of cultural identity, history, nature, and environmental concerns—creating a dialogue between ancient heritage and personal expression today. Malmir’s works have been exhibited at the Fifth National Handicrafts Exhibition, the First International Simorgh Exhibition, the National Handicrafts Festival Ganjineh, and the Semnan Visual Arts Exhibition.

At Pirouchak Art Studio, she co-leads the creative vision alongside Soheil Shabani, focusing on mindful, handcrafted creation in both jewelry and sculptural forms.

We create slowly. We create with intention. We create worlds, one piece at a time.
